Teaching English in Japan is a web site with a large directory of links, and some articles and advice about working in Japan. Contains a good set of conversion tables as well for the expat who is not used to the metric system.

Bilingual Japan newsletter
If you are interested in bilingualism, especially if you are raising or teaching bilingual children, "Bilingual Japan," the bimonthly newsletter of Jalt's Bilingualism N-SIG, is a wonderful resource.
